    As part of the study of unexplained inconsistent results, patient samples were identified in which monoclonal antibodies used in the reagents failed to detect the tsh molecule. these individuals may have previously unrecognized, functionally normal tsh variants. the rate of occurrence of this phenomenon over the 30-month period was 0.6 x 10-7.
