When the Peripheral Cutting Balloon device is inflated, the atherotomes score the plaque, creating initiation sites for crack propagation. Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA) with the Peripheral Cutting Balloon Device allows dilatation of the target lesion with less pressure.
